Why your payout is less than you thought
Refunds hit the week they're processed
Sale was 3 weeks ago. Refund went through this week. The refund deducts from THIS week's payout, not the week of the original sale. Easy to miss when comparing.
Payment processing on full buyer-paid amount
2.9% + $0.30 applies to (sale + buyer-paid shipping), not just sale price. A $100 sale with $8 shipping = processing on $108, not $100.
Giveaway shipping
On a giveaway, buyer pays $0 but you still cover shipping (~$5). That's a negative line on your payout.
Bundle shipping rebates
Multi-item bundles share shipping. Sometimes the rebate timing creates a one-week delay.
Sales tax on commission
Some states apply tax to the commission Whatnot collects. Small but adds up.

When does Whatnot pay sellers?⌄
Weekly. The Seller Weekly Orders Report is generated every Monday at 6am UTC. Payouts initiate after the report finalizes and typically arrive in your linked bank account 1-3 business days later.
How is my Whatnot payout calculated?⌄
Gross sales minus commission (8% standard, 10% sneakers), payment processing (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction), refunds processed that week, and seller-paid shipping. Tips are added on top.
Why is my Whatnot payout less than I expected?⌄
Most common reasons: refunds processed that week (deducted from this payout), giveaways with seller-paid shipping (negative impact), unpaid orders rolling to next week, and payment processing on full buyer-paid amount (sale + buyer shipping), not just sale price.
Does Whatnot hold seller payouts?⌄
New sellers may have holds during early shows. Established sellers usually receive payouts on schedule. Holds also occur for chargebacks under review or accounts flagged for verification.
